Dear Raiders Community,
We hope you all enjoyed a well-earned rest over the long weekend and made the most of the break!
As we dive back into the next few weeks of footy, we wanted to share some exciting updates from around the Club.
Season Kick-Off
It’s been a fantastic start to the year, and it’s been wonderful seeing our players back on the field — especially our enthusiastic Auskickers, who are the future of our great game!
Kicking off in Week 1 over the ANZAC Day long weekend and during school holidays made for a challenging start, but a huge thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.
New Club Captain Initiative
This year, the Committee has introduced a new initiative: the Raiders Club Captains. Selected from our Year 11/12 Teams, the Club Captains will be role models for our younger players, represent the playing group at committee meetings, speak at community events, and lead by example throughout the club.
We’re proud to announce our inaugural 2025 Club Captains: Heidi Thompson and Nick Richards-Scully! If you see them around, be sure to congratulate them — we’re looking forward to seeing them step into their leadership roles in the coming weeks.

BCNA – Pink Sports Weekend
In Round 3, we proudly supported the Breast Cancer Network Australia with a Pink Sports Weekend for Mother’s Day. From Yr 3 upwards, all home teams wore pink socks, and the canteen and merchandise stalls joined in with pink themes to raise awareness.
It’s not too late to donate to this important cause — you can still show your support here.
WAFL Pathways Success
A massive shoutout to our players involved in the Perth Football Club Futures Program, especially our Yr10 & 11 boys who helped the team go undefeated with a 7–0 record!
Congratulations also to long-time Futures Super Coach and Raiders Yr9 Coach Jos Welsh for guiding the team through a stellar season.
We're also celebrating recent WAFL Colts debuts by Yr11/12 players Dylan Noble, Luc Carles, and Lawson Hepworth — well done lads.

Upcoming Events
NAIDOC Week is just around the corner — we’ll celebrate across the weekend of 26–28 July, recognising and honouring our Indigenous heritage. If you'd like to be involved in planning, please reach out.
Fixtures for the coming rounds are now going live in Play AFL.All teams have Round 6 available, with more rounds to follow.
We're also hoping to capture a whole club photo (date to be announced) — players, coaches, managers, and volunteers, and we would love to see as many of you there as possible!
