Update on Girls Teams for 2020
To All the Wonderful Parents and Carers of Vic Park Raiders Girls Teams

2020 has approached us and I hope you are all ready for another fantastic season.

Unfortunately, this year I will be stepping down as Female Coordinator, Coaching Coordinator and Head Coach at Victoria Park Raiders.

Two years ago, I was asked to start a female team at the Raiders and although I don’t have a daughter, as a passionate female player, I jumped at the chance. After just 2 years we have more than 60 girls registered and have formed an amazing community family within our club. We have a fantastic group of girls, great families and some brilliant coaches and helpers. I have had the most amazing time, met some incredible young women and seen some brilliant football. I never thought we could achieve what we have in such a small period, but we have.

So, let’s keep it rolling…

We have also joined Curtin University Wesley football club in a partnership that will see our older girls training and playing at Curtin South Oval and offer our girls a pathway for when they finish junior football.

We will also be able to utilize some of Curtin’s trainee physios for games and some training.

This year the 9/11 competition will be only Years 9 and 10, which is great news for our girls. This year we will have our 7/8 and 9/10 teams training together at Curtin South Oval. This will provide big numbers at training and coaches to be able to work together to assist the girls where need. Any girls in Year 11 or 12 will be continuing playing at Curtin University.

Our 5/6 and 3/4 teams will be training together at Higgins Park. We are really hoping to get a 3/4 team in 2020, so everybody please spread the word.

Please meet our team for 2020

FEMALE COORDINATOR

KERRY FAIRHEAD
femalefooty@vicparkraidersjfc.com.au
kerryfairhead@hotmail.com

Welcome to one of our Year 10 Mums whom has put her hand up to take on this role. Being a mum of 3, working full time, Kerry has a knack for organisation and getting the job done. She is very approachable, friendly, caring and will be there when you need.

Kerry will be available for any questions, help registering, uniforms and any other information you need. (But remember this is her first year, so give a hand where you can.)

YEAR 7/8 COACHES

DION ROBERTSON AND EMILY FARR

DION
dion.robertson@health.wa.gov.au
0416 457 848

Dion will be jumping on board again this year and will be hoping to take the girls to the next level after getting knocked out in the semi-final last year. Dion’s passion and heart for the team is second to none.

Emily will be assisting Dion this year. She is a young, passionate ex-Kent Street student who I just finished playing a spring season with. Her ability on the field and attitude will provide a great assistant to Dion. Emily will also be playing for Curtin this year.

YEAR 9/10 COACHES

MINNIE AND BRONWYN

MINNIE
minnie_68@y7mail.com
0411 899 601

Minnie jumped on board last season to help coach the Year 9/10 team, but this year is stepping up and taking on the head coach role. She has played football for over 7 years (currently playing at the SWANS WAWFL CLUB). She has a wealth of knowledge and passion and is one of the best defensive players I have seen. She will bring a defensive side to the team.

BRONWYN
Bronwyn.hansen-92@hotmail.com
0451 022 169

Bronwyn was down last year holding some specialist coaching classes and this year she will be taking on the role as Minnie’s assistant. I have a very personal relationship with Bronwyn, as we won a premiership together in 2011. Since then she has developed into an amazing forward that has a massive right foot on her. She also has over 15 years’ experience (currently playing at the SWANS WAWFL CLUB). She will bring a brilliant kicking technique and I know she can’t wait to get out there to train the girls.

YEAR 5/6 COACHES

ASH

Ash helped last year and showed a great passion for the team. Gavin and Ash finished last season with a few wins and I know Ash can’t wait to start season 2020.

YEAR 3/4

We will be trying to get a 3/4 team up and running this year and would love a female coach. If any parents want to jump on board, please let us know.
